Join me in this week’s edition of The Weekly Muse, where I share everything from an unexpected surgery to the discovery of an amazing collection. Let’s take this journey through the ups and downs of my week together!

Well – this was it. This was the week that I thought I would be chiming in to tell you what a mundane, uneventful week we had.

Up until Wednesday, that is.

Unexpectedly, the hubs experienced an onslaught of eye floaters and a change in his vision. It all happened while he was very calmly sitting in church.

Long story short, he wound up having eye surgery to repairs tears in his retina on Thursday. The end of the week kind of turned into a whirlwind of activity.

The surgery went very well and he’s doing great, but I need another vacation.

I give God all the glory though. It was amazing to witness how it all unfolded.

We were able to see the eye doctor first thing the next morning, they referred him to a retina specialist, who incredibly was able to see him right away, and even more incredibly they were able to fit him in at the surgical center right away.

Just wow. Normally, you get referred, but have to wait for an appointment. DONE – all in one day! So thankful for that.

Okay – let’s move on to the pretty stuff.

I never tire of seeing gorgeous arrangements in chinoiserie bowls.

This is such a great deal on this rug, and it is washable, too!

This collection by LaLa Saks is incredible. I totally believe that you should display the things you love and she does just that.

This book is on my reading list. Such a helpful book and so encouraging.

Anyone else love a good no-bake dessert this time of year? This berry icebox cake looks like it will surely hit the spot.

Speaking of desserts, does anyone own the Ninja Creami? I mentioned that I wanted one in The Muse last week and finally broke down and purchased one. We’ve really been enjoyed making ice cream whenever we want it!

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend! If you’re looking for me, I’ll be over here chasing a puppy and trying to keep the hubs from bending over.

  1. Suzy, how awful for your husband. thank God for His provision though. Our son has diabetic retinopathy and I’ve been taking him for bi monthly laser treatments so I know how frightening this can be. May God bless your “Pookie” with complete and total healing and no recurrences. I know you must be exhausted too. Thanks for the post, I always like the weekly muse. Especially this week and last as I’ve been down with COVID and getting bored!

  2. So glad you were so blessed with your husbands surgery going well!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for your post, I never miss it. God bless.
