Being a ‘one woman show’ can feel isolating, but this offers me the opportunity to connect with each of you on a more personal level, which is my favorite thing to do!

Please let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see here. You can ask me anything or let me know if there’s something specific that you’re shopping for.

Random Happenings

• It’s time for a celebration because we are finally past gunky yellow pollen season here in central North Carolina! Do you have that where you live?

It only took me two weekends to completely clean the deck, screen porch, front porch, and everything on it. Ugh.

• Never, ever in a million years did I dream that one day I would have one of my granddaughter’s helping me with this blog. Did I say never?

I can’t tell you how awesome it is to see how much alike we are.

• I’m looking ahead to July 4th and trying to think of simple, subtle ways to add a bit of patriotism inside my house.

Do you decorate for Independence Day? I’m fresh out of new ideas and would love to hear what you do.

• Water damage is awful! If you’ve ever had a problem with it, you know what I mean. It has been a full year since we had a leak in our master bath shower and we’re still trying to get things right.

At least insurance has covered all of that, but now we have rot around one of our bay windows that insurance won’t cover because it happened over time.

• On a positive note, our annual family beach trip is coming up in less than a month and I’m SO excited!

We’re renting a different house this year and the thing that has the whole family the most excited is that it has a covered deck built right over the dune. Cannot wait.

Caught my eye

Courtney has such a pretty and cheerful kitchen. And how about those scallops!

I was thinking about making the switch from Roundup to the viral vinegar weed-killer recipe, but after reading this I’m not so sure. What do you use?

Speaking of going to the beach. How perfect is this for dinner delivery when check-in time is late in the day and everyone is tired, hungry, and grumpy?

Search for ‘charcuterie board delivery for <your destination name>’ to find someone who provides this service in the area you’re visiting. Definitely saving this one!

I love this free summer bucket list for kids printable.

Own and love. The best lightweight throw for summer. Plus it’s reversible.

I have always wanted to have a pool in my backyard just so I could spend my day on one of these.

A great guide for putting together pretty summer containers like this one.

  1. Water damage, yuck! We had a leak in our master bath shower. Thankfully our foundation is cement, but the damage to the walls, ugh!
I use small flags tucked in here and there for Independence day. That kitchen is wonderful. How could you have a bad day walking into that every morning. A charcuterie board delivered? I will suggest that for the next girls weekend my friends and I have.

Thank you for all the fun inspiration. Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Love your idea for the flags! I love the delivered charcuterie board too.

  2. Where can a find the beautiful orange/blue/white bowl that’s on the dining room table at the beginning of this blog?
All of your decor items are Great!
