My Week at a Glance

• If you have dogs that tend to get into mischief when they are bored (like a certain little scamp in this picture), I highly recommend getting a snuffle mat.

I hide a few pieces of dry dog food and tiny treats between the folds of felt and it keeps them busy for a good hour or so.

• The view right outside of our kitchen table, where I spend hours every day, is just gorgeous right now. My phone photo doesn’t come anywhere near portraying the beauty.

But the trees are quickly losing their leaves and will be barren in just a couple of weeks.

• I was finally able to get started decorating my tree this weekend.

I don’t have any deadlines this year, so I’m about three weeks behind where I normally am, but you know what? I’m actually enjoying this slow Christmas decorating instead of normal frenzy that it usually is.

I think I might make a habit of it.

Sunday Scripture

This has been a very hard week for a lot of people in our beloved country.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12, NIV

Inspiring Ideas and Fun Finds

I love adding simple holiday touches to every room in the house. Loving this easy arrangement idea for beside the kitchen sink.

There is nothing more classically Christmas than plaid pillows. These pillow covers are extremely affordable, too. I have some of these and they go with every style I put them with – even blue and white chinoiserie.

This scallop edge oval tray is so different. I love the tiny details.

I’m always up for a good chicken dish and I really want to try this Salsa Verde Chicken Casserole.

  1. I love the view of your yard from your kitchen table…especially the squirrel drinking from your planter!!

    1. Isn’t he cute? It was a happy accident that I caught him. I purposely put the bird feeder and bird bath in that location so that I could watch the activity while I’m working each day.
