Welcome to The Weekly Muse, a behind the scenes look at weekly happenings, musings, and favorite things that caught my eye. I bet you’ll like them too!

My Week at a glance

Here in central North Carolina, fall is the time of year to aerate and overseed your fescue grass lawn. And of course you have to keep it watered – right?

We had ours done a couple of weeks ago, which is a little late in the season, so it’s taking longer to germinate, and boy have we had a muddy mess.

With a new puppy, who has to be taken out frequently, I sure will be glad when the grass grows in!

Do we think this little stinker is being sassy sticking her tongue out at me??? 😂

But, if that’s the worst thing that I have to complain about this week, then I really have no complaints at all.

Other than that, it’s time to gear up for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Will you be spending the holidays at home this year or traveling?

Sunday Scripture

Our pastor is preaching from the book of Daniel for the next few weeks, with the overall theme being “courage in a hostile culture”.

Given current world events and with the election looming on the horizon, these verses spoke to me for this week’s Sunday Scripture.

Daniel 2: 20 – 21, ESV

Daniel answered and said:

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
    to whom belong wisdom and might.
21 He changes times and seasons;
    he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to those who have understanding;
22 he reveals deep and hidden things;
    he knows what is in the darkness,
    and the light dwells with him.
