My Week at a glance

What a mish-mash of things this past week was. Writing blog posts, putting fall away, planning and pulling Christmas out, cleaning muddy puppy paws, and on and on.

For whatever reason, this meme seems fitting this week.

I could use a little help from you though. I’m going to be hosting a meeting here for a few people from my church one evening next week and will be serving light snacks and/or dessert type finger foods.

I want it to be nice, but not stuffy. I get stuck when I think through the serving possibilities though.

Set it up on the kitchen island? But the sink is there. On a counter? But other stuff is there. On a sideboard? But that seems too pretentious. What would you do?

Sunday Scripture

As more and more stories of tragic events that Helene brought to the North Carolina mountains unfold, I find myself grieving in a sense.

I don’t personally know anyone who was impacted, but I mourn for those who lost so much.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me. Psalm 23:4, ESV

  1. I don’t think using the sideboard is pretentious at all. I would feel “cared for and worth it” if I came to your meeting. Add a scripture verse and make it even more meaningful. Then your guests will be twice fed. 😇

  2. I vote for the sideboard also. So nice to feel like a guest! Love the idea of adding a scripture verse!

  3. I think the sideboard sounds perfect-I would feel like someone actually took time to think about serving instead of just putting something together at the last moment and putting it on the kitchen counter.
