House Tour – The Office
Our office is located on the main floor of the house and gets quite a bit of use.
It isn’t a very big room – roughly 12′ x 12′. The file cabinet and a couple of chairs sit directly across from the front of the desk. I still want to make a couple of pillows for the chairs.
I’ve had these chairs for years and had them recovered in one of the the same fabrics that I used in the window treatment.
The window treatment was very simple to make. It’s called the Moroccan Valance and the pattern is available for purchase from M’fay Patterns.
I used the same money saving solution for drapery hardware for this window treatment that I showed you in my master bedroom.
The only difference is that I used a pair of drapery brackets instead of angle irons to mount the pvc pipe that I used for the rod. I also spray painted the pvc pipe dark brown because there was a chance that you might be able to get a peek of it in between the different pieces that make up the Moroccan Valance.
Here’s a straight-on shot of the hutch that sits on top of the credenza, just in case you’d like to get a better look at how I’ve accessorized it.
I’ll leave you with one last shot taken from a different angle. You might be able to tell that we get a lot of natural light in this room in the afternoon.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this little tour.
What an awesome home office. I do love those window treatments too, so unique! Thanks for sharing with my newbie party.
Very pretty office, and I love the window treatment you have made for in there.
Your office is stunning!
Oh, I’d love to have an office like yours – it’s gorgeous! Your window treatments are very nice.
be a sweetie,
shelia 😉
I love it! So warm! Thank you so much for linking up! By the way, I won’t be showing my husband this because I’ve convinced him the clutter I have on his desk is normal! Lol!
Your office is so much like mine it’s uncanny. Mine is smaller, if you can believe that, and no room for a separate desk. My hutch is very similar but yours is prettier and better decorated. What color did you paint the walls? I really like it and I’m ready for a change from cream.
Thanks for the tour. Love your traditional style,
Babs
Thank you so much everyone for your comments! Sometimes I wonder if I should get rid of all my traditional style decor.
Sadly, I don’t know the exact name of the paint. The base coat is a chamois color from Sherwin Williams (eggshell finish) and then plastic grocery bags were used to blot a darker glaze over the paint. Hope this helps!
Hi Suzy, This is a wonderful office! The furniture is beautiful and I adore the window treatments. Thank you for joining the Open House party.

Sherry
